I’m Alex Blattman, a musician based in South Florida. I started out playing in rock bands in high school. That’s where my love of making music began, and it’s stayed with me as my sound has changed.
Later in life, I got into plunderphonics: taking pieces of existing recordings and rearranging them into something new. It opened up a different way to make music, where an unexpected sample can become the starting point for an entire idea.
I’ve always loved The Avalanches. Their approach to weaving samples into whole musical worlds has been a lasting inspiration. The Frontiers is where I explore my own ideas, bringing those influences together with the energy of my rock-band beginnings.
